Fencing

§ 108-1. Fence required; upkeep.
It shall be unlawful for any person to maintain or operate an automobile graveyard in the town unless such automobile graveyard shall be entirely enclosed by a plank board fence not less than 10 feet in height, which fence shall be kept painted.
§ 108-2. Inspection.
Automobile graveyards in the town shall at all times be open to inspection by proper officials of the town.
§ 108-3. Violations and penalties.
Any person convicted of the violation of this article shall be fined not more than $500 for each offense. Each day an automobile graveyard is maintained in contravention of this article shall be considered a separate offense.
ARTICLE II
Unlicensed Vehicle Tax

§ 108-4. Imposition of tax.
There is hereby imposed a license tax in the amount of $100 annually upon the owners of motor vehicles which do not display current license plates and which are not exempted from the requirements of displaying such license plates under the provisions of Article 6 (§ 46.2662 et seq.) of Chapter 6 of Title 46, or §§ 46.2-1554 and 46.2-1555 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, are not in a public dump, in an automobile graveyard as defined in § 33.1-348 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, or in the possession of a licensed junk dealer or licensed motor vehicle dealer.
§ 108-5. Exemptions.
- A. Any vehicle which is stored on private property for a period not in excess of 60 days, for the purpose of removing parts for the repair of another vehicle, shall be exempt from such license tax.
- B. Nothing in this section shall be applicable to any vehicle being held or stored by or at the direction of any governmental authority, to any vehicle owned by a member of the armed forces on active duty or to any vehicle regularly stored within a structure.
- § 108-6. Violations and penalties.
It shall be an offense for any person to fail to abide by this chapter, and any person found guilty thereof shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $250. Each day any violation of this chapter shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
